MRDVS Technology Co., Ltd., a designer and manufacturer of mobile robot vision solutions, today announced the commencement of series production for the new model M4 Mega Time-of-Flight (ToF) RGB-D camera.
The M4 Mega is an industrial-grade RGBD camera featuring SONY iTOF technology, meticulously crafted to thrive in demanding industrial environments. Simultaneous output of RGB and depth images enhances object recognition, while the HDR wide dynamic range mode guarantees clear imaging in complex scenes. With its high frame rate mode, the M4 Mega captures moving objects with unparalleled precision. Moreover, its multi-camera channel mode enables interference-free operation, facilitating the simultaneous use of multiple cameras, which is critical for advanced machine vision applications.

Additionally, its utilization of a 940nm light source ensures consistent clarity, even in changing environments with intense lighting conditions of up to 100Klux. MRDVS’s software development kit (SDK) seamlessly incorporates intuitive controls tailored for all MRDVS cameras. Its graphical user interface (GUI) allows users to observe scene intensity and depth in either 2D or 3D point cloud views, enabling real-time manipulation and orientation. Compatible with Windows, Linux 64-bit, and Linux ARM operating systems, the SDK supports programming in C and C++, ensuring versatility and ease of integration for developers.
This innovative time of flight technology enhances the capability of mobile robots, ensuring precise and efficient operations in diverse industrial applications. It leverages indirect time of flight (iToF) principles to deliver superior accuracy and performance. MRDVS utilizes components from Sony Semiconductor solutions, ensuring the highest quality and reliability for industrial applications.
The applications of the M4 Mega are spanning from AGV obstacle avoidance and target object recognition to providing visual guidance for unstacking turnover boxes, soft packs, and trays. It excels in tasks such as object picking and placing in bins, parcel and object volume measurement, and identification and positioning of indoor and outdoor charging ports, oil tank openings, sand openings, and box openings. Furthermore, it can calculate the volume and spatial loading rate of material piles and offer recognition and visual guidance across various other fields.
